CHIARA OPALIO
PIANO
Chiara Opalio is the founder of the multi-prize winning Opalio Quintet and since 2020 she teaches as assistant at the Hochschule für Musik Basel for the class of Prof. Claudio Martinez Mehner for piano solo and Prof. Jan Schultsz for chamber music.

She’s also coach accompanist for the cello class of Thomas Demenga and teaches keyboard skills on the B.A programme for degree students at the Hochschule für Musik in Basel.
​
Since September 2021 Chiara is also coach accompanist for the Vocal Department at the Haute école de Musique Genève - Neuchâtel.
She is 1st prize winner of the Rahn and Zofingen-soloist Competitions and was semifinalist at Clara Haskil Competition.

Ms. Opalio has performed with many orchestras including Sinfonieorchester Basel, OSI, Aargauer Sinfonie Orchester. Chiara has performed at the Auditorio Stelio Moro RSI in Lugano and the Tonhalle in Zurich and worked with conductors such as Kristiina Poska, Marc Kissoczy. She was chosen by Sir. A. Schiff for the 2019-2020 Building Bridges concert series, with performances throughout Europe in venues such as Konzerthaus Berlin, the “Beethoven Haus” in Bonn and the Chapel in Gstaad for the Matinée des Jeunes Etoiles.

Chiara completed her Masters in Basel with unanimous maximum marks in Performance and Soloist.
​
She has performed at important festivals including the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg, Rigi Musiktage, Davos Festival, Mondsee for Musiktage Mondsee and in Wien at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
